 What is Rongoa Maori?

The foundation of Traditional Maori healing is "Taha Wairua" the "World of
Inter-Connections" which is a holistic approach of bringing all "Mauri (life force)" together, into a 'harmonic vibrational state of wellness'.
A Tohunga or Healer is a person who practices Rongoa Maori.

Wairakau is the Maori term for medicines that are used to help ease the dis-harmony within the body to a state of wellness 'for each persons' requirements.
Tahe's practice is founded on the knowledge and wisdom of traditional Maori healing and is evolving into a diverse inclusive holistic way to embrace the new Aquarian energy.

This was informed initially by her mother, her grandfather Tipene Tamatea (my mother's father); granduncle Kapi Adams; Tahe's involvement with Church affiliations, training and positions of responsibility within the Church; many years practice as a Senior Enrolled Nurse then as a Registered Nurse; many Kuia; Koroua (elders); Mentors both Maori and Tauiwi (people from other cultures) along with continual experiences and qualifications in both worlds.

She has weaved Taha Wairua and Mauri healing into everything she has done throughout her life. However, Tahe wanted to use Wairakau to compliment her practice, so in 2008 and 2009, Tahe completed Rongoa Maori Courses to enable her to provide Wairakau medicines in a dried form for tea making, poultices and using the liquid as a wash.

Tahe believes that 'one person's healing experience helps to heal and strengthen their "whole whakapapa (genealogy)".
Tahe's Practice includes but is not limited to:

  • Wairua whakawhitiwhiti Korero (Spiritual Counselling, includes Parapshychology)
